Waldorf Astoria Hotel Set to Open in San Francisco

In "landmark locations around the world", Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts embody the ultimate in luxury.  San Francisco's Transbay Development will soon be home to it's own Waldorf Astoria Hotel, which is set to open in either 2020 or 2021, claims Conde Nast Traveler.

The hotel plans to occupy the first 21 floors of the mixed-use building at First and Mission that will include retail, offices, residential apartments as well as the high-end hotel. This 2 million square foot faceted tower will be the second highest in the city's limits. Situated near the Salesforce Tower, the Transbay district will reshape San Francisco's skyline with it's impressive architecture.

San Francisco is undergoing a major uptick in hotels, with upwards of 20 hotels that total 4,000 rooms are either in development or have been proposed in San Francisco's urban center. If all are completed, this will raise the city's room inventory a sizable 10%.

The Waldorf Astoria San Francisco will include 171 rooms and suites, a number of restaurants and it's  infamous Waldorf spa. In keeping with the 5-star elegance and sophistication the Waldorf Astoria is renowned for, it will undoubtably be well-appointed. Images of the hotel itself have not yet been released but the tower will include a ground level open space that includes a park-like setting and an 'urban room'.
