Uber, best known for its transportation service, has entered into the food delivery service. A seemingly natural progression since they already have the delivery mechanism in place, UberEATS first began last summer in choice national locations including Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Austin and has since expanded into San Francisco and the East Bay in early 2016 as well as the Silicon Valley and Peninsula a few weeks ago.
Last Thursday, UberEATS launched in Larkspur, Mill Valley, San Rafael, Corte Madera and Sausalito, the 'final frontier' in securing the Bay Area's market in food service delivery.
According to their websitel, UberEATS will deliver Marin residents foods from over 40 local eateries including Fred's Coffee Shop, Green Chili Kitchen, Boo Koo, Cibo, Amici's East Coast Pizzeria and Rustic Bakery.
To place a deliver order, users should download the UberEATS smartphone app. According to their website, "by tapping into the Uber network of drivers, you can get anything from our roster of local restaurants...fast! The average order takes 35 minutes, start to finish. The total includes foods and delivery. There is no need to tip and you can pay with your UberEATS app and track your order on the site as it is enroute."
So the next time you want food from your favorite restaurant but don't want to leave the comfort of your home, UberEAT your meal.
Uber plans to continue to expand UberEATS across the nation. UberEATS is also available in choice international including Paris, Toronto, Sydney and London.
